The first review will be about Aural Innovations. This
has got to be one of my favorite music websites.
I grew up in Chicago during the seventies and I
remember when Triad radio was aired week nights and
I would tune in to hear progressive music from around
the world. Music like Kraftwerk, Hawkwind, Guru Guru,
and Amon Duul II.
Aural Innovations carries on that tradition, by exploring
bands that would otherwise never get air time. Such
bands as Farflung, and Mr. Quimby's Beard for
example.
Aural Innovation is hosted by Jerry Kranitz there are
ten different genre reflecting the personalities of all
the DJ's at Aural Innovations.
The shows have interesting names too. Such as
Space Rock Radio, The Electronic Cottage, Drool
Trough, Alchemical Radio, The Kozmik Ken Experience,
Lo Finest, Tapegerm Radio, The Ear-Relevant Music
Hoedown, and Magic Cat Radio and all are very
progressive music, From space rock to avant guard
and every thing in between, Aural Innovations also has
information on all the bands that appear on the shows
along with information on shows and artist and lets
not forget the links to many other cool zines.
Aural Innovations is on of my most favorite music sites
