Edgar Cayce-
Nostradamus Prophecy-

    Almost
    every day,
    several
    times a day,
    for more
    than forty
    years, Cayce
    would
    induce
    himself into
    an altered
    out-of-body
    state of
consciousness and reveal
profound information on various
subjects such as health, dreams,
meditation, religions, and
reincarnation, to name a few. But it
was the information that Cayce
revealed about the future which he
is probably most known for. He
provided information about the
history of humanity from the very
beginning to a time in the future
when humans will evolve into
beings with supernatural powers.
He described a new era of
enlightenment and peace when
divinity within humans would be
manifested on the earth. But
before this "kingdom of God"
would rule the world, Cayce
foresaw world events that can only
be described as apocalyptic, a
period of purification involving
natural disasters that will
dramatically alter the surface of the
earth, wars, economic collapse,
and socio-political unrest. These
visions of the future agree with
what is known about
After the 911 attacks, Nostradamus
prophecy was everywhere! It made
the BBC News and it was contained
in books on Amazon.com's
bestseller list. Dramatically,
"Nostradamus" even displaced
"sex" from the Internet's top-fifty
list for a short period of time.
Obviously, people love the notion
of prophecy. The tabloids are a
testament to that. Why then, do so
many people subscribe to the
vague and usually erroneous
prophecies of people like
Nostradamus, Jeanne Dixon, Edgar
Cayce, and others that make all the
"urban legends" lists? Why not
read the most dramatic prophecies
of all time - over 600 of them
contained in a perennial bestseller
known as the Bible? And, guess
what? They've all been fulfilled to
date! And there's another 300 or so
still on the horizon!

Ed Wood  The Movie
    Keeping this
    disclaimer in
    mind,      Ed
    Wood is a
    quietly halarious
    movie. Every
    actor is in on
    the joke,
especially Johnny Depp, who
plays  Wood, and Martin   Landau,
who's amazing portrayal of the
aged Bela Lugosi won him an
Oscar. Every frame of this movie
conveys the tragicomedy of Wood's
life (director Tim Burton made this
film after scoring big with Batman;
he seems to view Wood's career
with an ambivalent "there but for
the grace of God go I" attitude).
"The Core,"
scientists race
against time to
keep the Earth's
core spinning. If the
core is allowed to
stop, the Earth will
be destroyed. It's
up to a highly
trained team to
travel via ship deep
into the center of the Earth to prevent
the destruction of life as we know it.
Plan 9 from Outer Space
    This film is one of
    the greatest bad
    movies  ever made.
    I have viewed "Plan
    9 from Outer
    Space" on
    numerous
    occasions. In fact,
    at times I have
    grown weary of the
    movie and
avoided it for a year or two. I eventually
feel the need to watch it
again and pull the DVD off the shelf.
Though I can remember many parts of
it scene for scene, the experience is
one I will never outgrow - especially
when my repeat viewing is done with
someone else who has never seen it
before.
Science Fiction Theater -
Mind Machine

The Science Fiction
Theater was the
 father of all
 modern Sci-Fi
 shows. This is the
story of a professor who creates a
machine to receive and translate
brainwaves. Good watching.
Mystery Science Theater 3000

 Features a man and his
                        robot sidekicks who are
                        trapped on a satellite in
                        space and forced to
                        watch particularly bad
                        movies, especially (but
                        not limited to) those of
                        the science fiction
                        genre. The premise of
the show is that the man and his
robots make a running commentary on
the film, making fun of its flaws and
wisecracking their way through the film
in the style of a movie theater peanut
gallery. Series creator Hodgson
originally played the stranded man,
Joel Robinson. When he left in 1993,
series head writer Michael J. Nelson
replaced him as new B-movie victim
Mike Nelson, and continued in the role
for the rest of the show's run.

Airwolf is a high tech helicopter

back. Stringfellow Hawke, the only
other man other than the creator who

Santa Claus Conquers
the Martians
    Blast off for Mars... with
Santa and a pair of Earth
    kids! Blast off for Mars...
with Santa and a pair of
    Earth kids! Science-Fun-
    Fiction at its height!
I really enjoy this silly little holiday  flick.
A bunch of serious Martian  adults are
afraid that their serious  Martian
children are too serious, so they go to
a serious Martian senior citizen. The
old guy tells them that the children
need to be taught how to laugh, and
Then he explodes for no reason. The
only logical thing left to do, of course,
is go to Earth and kidnap Santa Claus,
who we meet as he is being
interviewed by the Rip Taylor-like Andy
Anderson. I liked how in the movie's
universe, Santa is unquestionably real
and
everyone knows about him. He really
does deliver toys to everyone, toys
made by a dozen elves (who all look
like they're suffering from mini-
seasonal depression). One toy shown
is a toy rocket that runs on "real rocket
fuel", Santa proudly explains. I would
ask, "Where do little kids get rocket
fuel?" The details of Santa's amazingly
speedy mass distribution methods are
notbrought up, but it's probably black
magic-related.

Virus 1980;    SECOND
WEEK!
A Si-Fi Doomsday thriller
Watch it Now!

    Virus, also
    known as
    Fukkatsu no
    hi, this
    intriguing
    film is about
    biological
    warfare. A
    military-
    engineered
    virus is
released when the plane carrying it
crashes, wiping out almost the
entire human population, with the
exception, of course, of some
scientists who rush to find a cure.
Based on the original novel
Fukkatsu No Hi by Sakyo Komatsu
(who had also penned the source
material for the earlier Japanese
disaster epic Tidal Wave / Nippon
Chinbotsu, 1973), Virus suffers from
an over-ambitious narrative that
perhaps tries to cram in far too
many disparate threads into its
running time. There are simply too
many characters for the film to keep
track of effectively, and no one
single audience identification
figure so that the large segments of
characterisation missing from the
US release print result in constant
lurches in pacing and rhythm.
