Kucinich asks for
New Hampshire recount

Cites concerns over Internet rumors and discrepancies between
polls, results

CONCORD, N.H. - Democrat Dennis Kucinich, who won less than 2
percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, said Thursday he
wants a recount to ensure that all ballots in his party's contest were
counted.

The Ohio congressman cited "serious and credible reports,
allegations and rumors" about the integrity of Tuesday results.

Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan said Kucinich is entitled to a
statewide recount. But, under New Hampshire law, Kucinich will have
to pay for it. Scanlan said he had "every confidence" the results are
accurate.

The Feds Make A Desperate Move:

By Ronnie LoBello
The Feds show their insecurity when they raided the Liberty Dollar
headquarters recently.

Ron Paul is the candidate that frightens the Neo Conservatives in
Washington more than they would ever let on. Even though you’ll
hardly hear a peep about Ron Paul on the Fox or CNN news networks
and many Americans still don’t know who he is, he is raising a
surprising amount of money from small contributions. This shows the
amount of support he gets from his growing popularity. Beware of the
negative spins we will encounter from the corporate controlled
media. Bill O’Rilliey and the likes of, will be connecting Ron Paul with
counterfeiters, gun nuts and every thing else they could dream up.
Don’t you believe it! These are misleading accusations and should be
recognized as such.

The truth is that Liberty Dollars are not counterfeit, They are backed
by gold and silver which makes them silver or gold certificates,
therefore their value is tangible. Unlike Federal Reserve Notes more
commonly known as the Dollar Bill.

Dollar bills are backed by NOTHING; there is no gold, silver nothing
but a growing national dept.

There is definitely is problem here. The Economy is not going to hold
up much longer the Euro is gaining in popularity around the world
and the; New World Order Globalist types are talking about joining
Mexico, Canada and The United Sates forming the North American
Union and issuing new currency called the Amero. In other words
remove the borders and creating a new country controlled by
international corporations, the end of Mexico, Canada and The USA.

This transfer won’t happen without opposition, which would be a
disaster but wouldn’t it be a bigger disaster if we just let this
happen? People who believe in and respect the US Constitution
would never stand for such a thing to happen. The sooner America
wakes up and learns the truth the sooner we can turn our country
into a better direction.

The Presidential Elections are coming up. Ron Paul’s message is
spreading like wild fire

And he is raising a lot of money on his campaign, which worries the
Washington DC. Mafia. So when Liberty Dollar’s where about to
release the Ron Paul Dollar, they freaked.

Like gangsters enforcing territorial boundaries, the Federal Marshals
busted into the Evansville Indiana headquarters and quite literally
stole all the gold, silver bank accounts records and computers.

They fear any one who challenges the Federal Reserve Note

The Ron Paul might have very popular.

Bernard von NotHaus is identified by the Evansville Courier Press, as
"the group’s monetary architect." NotHaus says he expects to be
indicted on charges of
money laundering and wire fraud.” I see this as a golden opportunity
to go into court and
vindicate the Liberty Dollar as being legal and being the solution to
our great country’s monetary problems,” von NotHaus said. “This is
going to be a big trial. We’re going
to be putting Evansville on the map. Because money is going to be on
trial right there in Evansville.”
Help Make It Happen!
Best Candidate Ever!
Our goal - our one and only goal - is to elect Ron Paul president of the
United States. But as of this message, time is not on our side.
We have approximately 900 hours until the Iowa caucuses and about
1,000 hours until voters in New Hampshire go to the polls. That's just
900 hours for all of us to do what we can to make sure Ron Paul wins
the Republican nomination for president.
Dr. Paul's best opportunity to win the nomination is for him to make a
strong showing in the early primary states of New Hampshire, Iowa,
Michigan, South Carolina, and Nevada. Appropriately, the most
important part of our campaign strategy is an unrelenting blitz of
radio and TV ads in these states.
The evidence shows very strongly that consistent, targeted media
exposure is the best tool to increase Ron Paul's name recognition.
It's no accident that Dr. Paul is surging in early primary states. Recent
polls show him at 8% in New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina,
and 6% in Iowa. In most cases, this represents a doubling of our poll
numbers in just two weeks!
Your grassroots support on the ground, coupled with targeted media
is critical to all of these efforts. Because half of "likely voters" still
haven't heard of Ron Paul, we have plenty of room to double our poll
numbers again. The donations that you make now allow us to
continue our current level of intense media in these states
uninterrupted.
Remember: We're battling against the likes of Mitt Romney, who is
spending close to a million dollars per week on TV ads alone. The
more we raise, and the sooner we raise it, the better we can compete.
And now that Michigan's primary also will be held in January, meeting
the $12 million mark as soon as possible is more important than ever.
This goal represents the minimum amount that we believe is
necessary to make a strong run at the nomination. But because of the
wealth and connections of the other candidates, none of us should
be content with any amount that we raise. After all, we can't be
satisfied with merely giving Ron Paul a chance to win the Republican
nomination. We have to be determined to give him the absolute best
chance possible.
The political elites recognize that Ron Paul is for real, and that he is
the only first tier candidate with a message that threatens their
power. It's no wonder that Rudy Giuliani, as reported in yesterday's
Washington Post, is now on the offensive against Ron Paul.
Everyone involved in any way with this campaign has been making
sacrifices that often go unnoticed and unrecognized. The
selflessness with which you all donate to and volunteer for
Ron Paul
is the best sign that what we are doing truly is bigger than any one of
us. On behalf of our campaign, I sincerely thank you for everything
that you do every single day.
All of us recognize that this political race is not a game. It will prove to
be the most important presidential election of our lifetimes.
Help us continue to repeatedly exceed expectations.

Barack Obama, Just Another
Corporate Candidate
By Joshua Frank
Countercurrents.org

One cannot scale the ranks of the Democratic establishment without
selling out to Washington insiders, and presidential aspirant Barack
Obama is quite adept at playing the game. Since announcing his
candidacy in early February, Obama has raised millions of dollars from
corporate fat-cats and multinational corporations. While the young
candidate has leaned heavily on law firms to which he has
professional connections -- he’s also not been afraid to dip in to the
trough of Big Business. And it’s a sure sign Obama is a real
contender for his party’s nomination.

When Howard Dean’s campaign began to gain momentum during the
2004 elections, the former Vermont governor had not flipped through
his party’s corporate black book, and instead relied heavily on the
grassroots to provide fuel for his presidential bid. The party’s elite,
nervous and unsure that Dean could be one of them, taught the naïve
doctor a harsh lesson: the establishment quietly sacked Dean for
America because he had not accepted the way business is done in
Washington.

Insiders were brought on at safe distance from John Kerry’s
campaign, and a group, founded by Democratic fundraiser David
Jones, ran vile ads attacking Dean during the Iowa caucus. Moderate
Democrats labeled Dean a radical despite his conservative tenure in
Vermont. John Edwards called him unelectable. The DLC was against
him. Soon Dean was crushed at the polls and never recovered after
his screaming speech following the disaster in Iowa. The elite had
prevailed with Kerry and Edwards. The Deaniacs’ hopes were
crushed. And it now seems Obama has vowed to make the same
mistake.

There’s not question that industry loves Barack. As of March 31, UBS,
the second largest bank in Europe, has given over $165,000 to his
campaign. The Exelon corporation, which is the nation’s largest
nuclear plant operator, has donated almost $160,000. The investment
Goliath, Goldman Sachs, has also fattened the pockets of Barack Inc.
with over $143,000. Citigroup has given well over $50,000 with
Morgan Stanley close behind at $40,000. Wall Street has Obama’s
back.

Kirkland & Ellis, the conservative law firm that worked for the
Democrats to limit ballot access of Ralph Nader’s campaign in 2004,
also digs Obama, and have given his campaign over $70,000. That’s a
lot of money to be tossing around so early in the campaign season.
But the firm that represents GM and tobacco giant Brown &
Williamson has plenty of cash to spare. They know Obama has a good
chance at winning the nomination -- if not this cycle, perhaps one
down the road. In the meantime, Obama’s voice as a leading
Democrat in the Senate grows more influential by the day. They know
they’ll get their money’s worth in the long run.

The Obama campaign insists the funds he is raising won’t influence
his positions on any matter, politically or otherwise. They assure us
Barack is untouchable. But whom are they trying to kid? Frankly, big
donors aren’t accustomed to handing out hundreds of thousands of
dollars without any kickbacks. They don’t write checks out of good
will, they do it because they in turn profit. As Ken Silverstein wrote in
an online article for Harper’s:

“To anyone who thinks Obama is blissfully oblivious to the
fundraising imperative, consider the following: in one of his earliest
votes as a senator, Obama helped pass a class-action “reform” bill
that was a long-standing and cherished goal of business groups. (The
bill was the focus of a significant lobbying effort by financial firms,
who constitute Obama's second-biggest single bloc of donors.)”

Thanks in no part to Exelon I’m sure; Obama has championed nuclear
power as a “green” technology. Through his elaborate fundraising
channels Obama has also formed a close relationship with Skadden,
Arps, one of the largest corporate law firms in the country and one of
the largest contributors to the Democratic Party. Skadden, Arps was
the legal team hired by David Jones to help derail Howard Dean.
Consequentially they were also a top contributor to Kerry’s campaign
in 2004.

Indeed, like the rest of his deep pocketed friends, they know Barack
Obama has solidified himself as another corporate candidate.
We believe that the public should be given all the facts,
including the facts that will never be presented by the mainstream
media. Whether it is because of the media's socialist agenda,
or because of the fear of death, is not relevant.
The following  includes facts, followed by comments.
Think of it what you will.

Sen. Obama sees no hypocrisy in his wife's
post at a firm that does business with Wal-Mart

Barack Obama made national headlines last month when he loudly
enlisted in the campaign to get Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to treat its
workers better.

The Chicagoan who would be president — maybe — told members of
a union-backed coalition that they have "a moral responsibility to
stand up and fight" the big retailer. "The battle to engage Wal-Mart
and force them to examine their own corporate values and what their
policies and approaches are to their workers . . . is absolutely vital,"
the Associated Press quoted the U.S. senator as saying.

I share the sentiment. Companies that pay top execs tens of millions a
year while squeezing the little guys on the production line or in the
back office are destroying middle-class America.

Which raises a question — not about corporate values but about Mr.
Obama's values. Specifically, while Mr. Obama bashes Wal-Mart, why
does his wife, Michelle, make $45,000 a year serving on the board of a
Chicago-area company that pays its executives a very hefty amount of
money while laying off mostly minority workers in an economically
deprived area, a company whose No. 1 customer is — you guessed it
— Wal-Mart?
he story:

In early 2005, Texas-based Dean Foods Co. spun off its processed-
food subsidiary into an independent company, TreeHouse Foods Inc.
Stock in Westchester-based TreeHouse began trading on June 15,
2005. Elected to its board of directors on June 6 of that year was
Michelle Obama, who receives $30,000 a year plus $1,500 per board
or committee meeting she attends. That totaled $45,000 in 2005,
according to Mr. Obama's Senate ethics disclosure. Ms. Obama got
7,500 stock options this year, company filings show. At the current
price of TreeHouse stock, she has a paper profit of about $60,000 on
the options.

Now, I never thought there was that much money peddling pickles,
non-dairy creamer, puddings and related goods to grocery stores,
which is what TreeHouse does. Apparently I was wrong. In 2005,
TreeHouse CEO Sam Reed was one of the highest-paid executives in
Illinois. In fact, on Crain's annual Fortunate 100 list of best-
compensated execs, Mr. Reed ranked No. 2, with total compensation
of nearly $26.2 million, just ahead of Motorola Inc. chief Edward
Zander and Abbott Laboratories boss Miles White.

TreeHouse says most of that money is in the form of stock awards
granted by Dean at the time of the spinoff. For instance, according to
the company's April 21 proxy statement, Mr. Reed will get $12.5 million
in restricted stock awards over three years if total returns on
TreeHouse stock over that period equal or exceed the average of 22
peer companies.

Still, that sounds like a good deal, given that TreeHouse has gross
sales of just more than $700 million a year. Indeed, TreeHouse should
have employed "some benchmark that's more challenging" than
being average, says Dan Pedrotty, director of the AFL-CIO's Office of
Investment.

Mr. Reed also was granted options for at least an additional 833,000
shares of stock, according to the proxy, and three other company
officials made at least $10 million each last year, according to the
Crain's list.

Amid all that optioning, TreeHouse did something else in 2005: On
Nov. 26, it announced plans to close its La Junta, Colo., pickle plant, a
move that claimed the jobs of 153 workers, most of them Hispanic — a
big blow to a rural town with only 9,500 residents. The jobs paid a
starting wage of $11 an hour, good pay for the area. The company
blamed slowing pickle sales. But the locals are still furious.

"Prior to the closing, they told us this plant was as efficient as any,
that they had hardworking and loyal employees," says La Junta Mayor
Don Rizzuto. The firm even spent money on an expansion a few years
earlier, and the town paid for needed roadwork. Adds the mayor: "In
Chicago, 150 jobs is a pebble on the beach. In La Junta, it's a slice of
the beach."

TreeHouse is rumored to be in the market to buy other food firms or
to be acquired itself. It has something valuable to offer: According to
that April 21 proxy, "For the year ended Dec. 31, 2005, our largest
customer, Wal-Mart (including its subsidiaries, such as Sam's Club),
represented approximately 11.7% of our net sales."

Ms. Obama, vice-president for external affairs at the University of
Chicago Hospitals, says she was asked to join the board — five
months after her husband took office — after putting out feelers
indicating she'd like to get some corporate management experience.
She says Mr. Reed's compensation is benchmarked to that of other
food firms and that the firm hopes to expand and hire more workers,
many minorities, once it boosts its efficiency.

The Harvard University Law School graduate says she's not cashing in
on anyone's fame. "My income is pretty low compared to my peers,"
she says, meaning other Harvard Law grads. "You wouldn't ask that
question if, like some people in politics, we had trust funds and were
rich."

Mr. Obama also rejects any suggestion that his family is improperly
benefiting from his fame. Although a recent land deal with political
insider Tony Rezko raised such questions, Mr. Obama has spent the
bulk of his career working as a civil rights lawyer, not as a partner at a
lucrative LaSalle Street firm.

On the question of whether there's any hypocrisy in his bashing of
Wal-Mart while his wife draws pay from a company that does business
with the retailer, he says his views on corporate reform and social
justice remain the same regardless of what happens at TreeHouse.
Until those views are implemented, he says, "Michelle and I have to
live in the world and pay taxes and pay for our kids and save for
retirement" just like anyone else.

Meanwhile, Mayor Rizzuto has an offer: He'll pay the airfare for either
Mr. or Ms. Obama to come and "look at the people and the town
they're affecting." He adds, "If she and her husband are the champion
of the little guy, it's amazing what they're doing."

Ohio seizes voting machines in criminal
investigation
    by  Ryan Paul

At the request of election officials, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal
Identification and Investigation has seized voting machines for
forensic analysis and has launched a criminal investigation into the
Franklin County Board of Elections.

The investigation was launched after Jennifer Brunner, Ohio's
Secretary of State and chief election official, found that a candidate's
name was marked as withdrawn on the electronic voting machine that
she used during the recent primaries, an irregularity that was also
reported by voters in other precincts. The state attorney general is
now working with a team of computer forensic consultants to
determine if there was any tampering.
