Biography:
Carving out a unique musical nitch by releasing
five compact discs over a fifteen year period,
David Byrd and Birds of a Feather is an all star
group of Chicago musicians that have played
across the country, and will make you dance,
sweat, and never forget their conscious sound.

David saw all the great Jazz and Soul Artist of
the day,The biggest influence was his uncle Earl
"Ghost" Washington who held a six nighter at the
Blue Note and later the Inn Place. And stayed in
Chicago and raised six sons with his wife Jean,
quite an accomplishment!

Sonny Stitt was David's greatest hero, as a held
down a Monday Jam session at the Grass Hut on
79th st. Davids strongest musical influences was
Bunky Green, who taught Chicago University the
collage Dave attended. After playing with R&B
group "Electric Funk" and the reggae band "NYA
Como". David formed " Birds of a feather", in
1981 which evolved into a Jazz Reggae band by
1983, with a whole new line up. Playing live
relentlessly until 1992, not to soon after his
recording career flourished.
